Reviews and Ratings <br />
The hotel is located in a peaceful rural area, which is great for a relaxing getaway, yet it's conveniently close to Haywards Heath and Brighton. The rooms are generally comfortable and equipped with necessary amenities, although they do have a bit of a tired look, and occasionally, noise from the nearby car park can be a disturbance. The dining experience, especially breakfast, is delightful, with a range of delicious options available. While the service is accommodating and attentive, improvements in room updates would elevate the overall experience.
The Hickstead Hotel offers a pleasant experience with very friendly and efficient staff, making us feel welcome throughout our stay. The meals, particularly the afternoon tea, were delightful and well-presented. However, the dining during our event was quite disappointing, as the food quality did not meet expectations for the price. Additionally, while the rooms were spacious and comfortable, they could use some updates to enhance the overall experience.
The hotel has a pleasant atmosphere with a good approach to event organization. While the service was commendable and the food at the funeral wake was praised, my experience with the afternoon tea was extremely disappointing. The food quality varied, with some items not meeting expectations, leading to a rather uncomfortable experience. Overall, there’s a blend of good service and organization, but food quality might be hit or miss depending on the occasion.
The stay at The Hickstead was quite enjoyable, with exceptionally friendly staff and a peaceful environment. The breakfast quality was satisfactory, though there were some areas that could use improvement. While the hotel has potential due to its location near Hickstead Show Jumping Arena, it certainly needs some updates and refurbishments to compete with nearby accommodations.
I had a mixed experience at this hotel. While the staff were incredibly accommodating and the dining options were impressive, the room I stayed in was a bit worn out and noisy. The location was convenient yet it felt a bit isolated, but overall, the value for money was reasonable considering the pleasant dining and service.
